Our business has gone through a few changes over the years and we are always adding new fun items to hire and rent.
We started hiring Jukeboxes. We now hire a range of items including, Pool Tables, Arcade Games, Air Hockey and Pinball Machines.
I remember as a kid pinball machines being everywhere. In pubs, clubs and cafes etc. But then over a period of time they drifted away and you saw fewer pinballs in places.
We decided some 15 years ago to see if there was still a love and market for pinballs and we were of course happy to find out that there was.
The younger generation often haven’t encountered a pinball machine. Most know what they are but not all.
What’s great is when they are presented with a pinball machine, say hired for their parents parties and they get to use one, they love ’em. There is something just enjoyable about playing pinball machines and I think part of it is the physicality of the game. Sure its an indoor game and its hardly going to keep you fit – but it is more ‘real’ than video games.
Its a heady mix of skill and luck. A lucky player always stands a chance of beating a skillful player – but a skillful player will over time always win the day.
Pinball competitions are held all over the world and it can get a bit serious.
